David Phinicie

April 29, 1954 — September 27, 2011

David C. Phinicie, age 57, of Chambersburg, PA; passed away in the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on September 27, 2011. Born April 29, 1954 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of Grace Mitchell Phinicie and the late Clarence Phinicie.

Dave was a 1973 graduate of the Waynesboro Area Senior High School. After graduation Dave worked in the Construction industry for over 25 years; including working at Landis Tool, Fayetteville Contractors, and David L. Martin Excavating. Most recently, Dave was employed at the Chambersburg Country Club. Dave was a member of the Chambersburg Club, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends, in addition he enjoyed visiting with friends at the Jolly Cork and Foxes West End. Other hobbies included hunting, fishing, shooting groundhogs, and tinkering in his garage.

Surviving are his children, Danny and Denise Phinicie both of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Danna and Shyann Phinicie; three siblings, Dennis G. Flory (Susan) of Harrison, AR, Diane Myers (Don) of Shady Grove, PA, and Dale L. Phinicie (Jill) of Waynesboro, PA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202 on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 10 AM; where Rev. Shawn Kell will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 30 from 7-9 PM and on Saturday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Rd., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
