David Shew

David Eugene Shew, 61, of Chambersburg, PA, died Monday, December 1, 2014 as a result of injuries sustained in an accident near Carlisle. Born April 9, 1953 in Chambersburg, he was a son of Hilda Marie Gordon Shew of Hagerstown, MD and the late Melvin Leroy Shew, Sr. David was a 1970 graduate of the James Buchanan High School and was employed as a truck driver with Clouse Trucking. He attended Apostolic Faith Church in Chambersburg. David was a life member of the Friendship Engine Hose Company # 14 and a member of the Fayetteville, St. Thomas, and Marion Fire Departments. He enjoyed vacationing in Myrtle Beach, attending concerts, holiday decorating, and his job. He had a great love for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Jean Rosenberry Shew, whom he married February 12, 1977 in Chambersburg; three sons, Christopher Michael Shew of Chambersburg, David Scott Shew (Jennifer) of Ft. Loudon, and Cody Lynn Shew (Brittany) of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Chloe, Zoey, Katlin, and Austin; three brothers, Melvin Leroy Shew, Jr. of Chambersburg, Randy Shew of St. Thomas, and Donald Shew of Ft. Loudon; and three sisters, Sandy Robinson of Hagerstown, Cathy Rice of Chambersburg, and Connie McNair of Fayetteville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Pastor Phillip Zook officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
