David Russell Tipton, age 44, of Scotland, PA passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013. Born in Nuremburg, Germany on March 7, 1969, he was the son of Johnny C. and Rosie Johnson Tipton.
A 1987 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School, Dave went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. He worked as a welder/mechanic at Ingersoll-Rand in Shippensburg and most recently for P.D. Systems. An avid sports enthusiast, Dave enjoyed, the outdoors, fishing, golfing, NASCAR racing, and collecting NASCAR memorabilia, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Malisa Pendergast Tipton, whom he married November 2, 2003; his eleven year old daughter, Taylor J. Pendergast-Tipton; two siblings, Ken R. Tipton of Waynesboro, PA and Glen R. Tipton (wife Tami) of North Branch, MN; three nieces; and six nephews. Dave was preceded in death by two siblings, Rhonda Tipton and James E. Tipton.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 7 PM in the Shippensburg Church of the Nazarene, 415 E. Orange St., Shippensburg, PA; where Rev. Melissa Mankamyer will officiate.
