David F. Zeigler, 78, of Spring Run, died Monday, March 25, 2013 at his home. Born January 9, 1935, he was a son of the late Harry and Margaret A. Stong Zeigler. A US Air Force veteran, Dave served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. Dave worked as a carpenter for Welty Shaffer Construction retiring in 1997. He was a member of the DAV, and the American Legion McCartney Post 232 in Dry Run for 41 years. He enjoyed woodworking and making furniture.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Evonne Snyder Zeigler, whom he married on September 8, 1977; three children, Vanessa Culbertson of Fannettsburg, PA, David M. Zeigler of Waynesboro, PA, and Timothy Zeigler of Dry Run, PA; six grandchildren, Adam Runk (wife Amber) of Spring Run, PA, Logan Runk of Fannettsburg, PA, Nova Breon (husband James) of Concord, PA, Renae Swailes (Husband Carl) of Willow Hill, PA, and Andrew and Adam Zeigler; several great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and two brothers, Robert Zeigler of Huntingdon, PA and Edward Zeigler of Mt. Union, PA. Aside from his parents he is preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services under the direction of Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, Dry Run, PA will be private. The family would like to thank Lutheran Home Care and Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion. The family requests the omission of flowers and that memorial contributions may be made in David’s name to Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
