Dean Thompson

Dean E. Thompson, Jr., age 70, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening, June 9, 2020 at Paramount Senior Living. Born January 4, 1950 in Chambersburg, he was the son of Blanche D. Lape Mock of Chambersburg and the late Dean E. Thompson, Sr. Dean was a 1967 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and attended Hagerstown Business College. He served honorably in the US Navy. He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in 1995 and then worked at First Data, the Chambersburg YMCA, and F&M Trust Company. He was a member of First United Methodist Church; George Washington Lodge #143 F&AM, the Scottish Rite Club; the Goodwill Steam Fire Engine and Hose Company #3; Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW; and Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, building model cars, and yardwork.

Dean is survived by his wife, Bonnie Truett Thompson, whom he married in October of 1971; his son, Christopher R. Thompson and wife Hilari; granddaughters Skylyhn and Kaylyhn Thompson; and his sister, Vanessa Stepler and husband Jeff, all of Chambersburg.

Services and interment will be private.
