Debora K. McNew, 62, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016. Born October 7, 1953 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of Peggy J. Sprow McNew of Fayetteville and the late Max E. McNew. Debora lived all of her life in Fayetteville, and was a 1971 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. Early in her life she was employed as one of the first female linesman with United Telephone. She later worked as a Telecom Switch Technician with Verizon and was contracted to the US Department of Energy where her work included maintaining secured communication lines into the White House. She had loved all kinds of animals and was a self-taught “computer whiz”. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed playing women’s softball, coaching girls’ softball, photography, and scrapbooking.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sister, Cheryl L. Perry and husband Robert W. of Chambersburg; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Aside from her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John and Isabell Sprow, and her paternal grandparents, Walter and Lillie McNew, all of Fayetteville.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
