Delbert Kyle Hudler, Jr., 72, of Chambersburg, PA; passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at his home.
Born November 5, 1941 in Bel Air, MD, he was a son of the late Delbert K. Hudler and Oneeda Nelson Hudler Plummer. He was a graduate of the Bel Air High School. A truck driver for most of his life, he had been employed for many years with Grove Worldwide, and retired from Food Lion. Raised in the Baptist Church., his hobbies included photography, computers, socializing, and spending time with his family.
Kyle is survived by his loving wife, Carol J. Stevens Hudler, whom he married August 6, 1977; two children, Teri L. Scherer of Bel Air, MD and Michael A. Hudler and wife Sharon of Joppa, MD; and two grandchildren, Joseph Scherer and Nicole Hudler. Also surviving are eight siblings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Diana Hudler and Hazel Hudler.
In Kyle’s words to his family and friends: Michael and Teri – I love you more than words can be expressed. I am so proud of you both and always have loved you with each breath I took; Joseph and Nicole – Please know that no grandfather could have loved you both more, and wanted to spend more time with you and learn of your dreams. I am proud of the person you have become; Family – I was so honored to have each of you in my life and to be able to call you my sisters and brothers; Sisters-in-laws and Brother-in-law has been a true blessing. I loved each of you; Friends – It has been an honor to know each and every one of you. I have grown to love you and I thank you for being my friend. So long to all of you. I Love You! A memorial service to celebrate Kyle’s life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 8, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Daryl Baer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. It was Kyle’s wish to donate his body for anatomical study through the Pennsylvania Humanities Gifts Registry.
