Delores M. Burkhart

Delores Marie Etter Burkhart, age 80 of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Laurel Lake Rehabilitation Center. Born June 24, 1943, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anson E. Etter, Sr. and Geraldine M. Elliott Etter.

Mrs. Burkhart was a 1961 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. She was a seamstress at the Stanley Company, Busy Bobbin Fabric Store, and on her own for many years. Delores also worked a Wendy’s for 10 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Chambersburg and AARP. Mrs. Burkhart enjoyed sewing, traveling, gardening, completing word search puzzles, and watching NASCAR.

Surviving are two children, Donald L. Burkhart (Karen) of Chambersburg, PA and Deborah S. Burkhart (Joe Varner) of NC; two grandchildren, Kristin Sites (Michael) and Eric Burkhart (Danielle); four great-grandchildren, Henry and Grace Sites and Everly and Ethan Burkhart and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Burkie” Burkhart in 2001 and two brothers, Anson Etter, Jr and Charles Etter.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, June 21, 2024 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the First United Methodist Church, 225 S. Second St., Chambersburg, PA 17202 or to American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
