Delores I. McNew

Delores I. McNew, age 92 of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Celebration Villa in Shippensburg, PA. Born March 28, 1933, in Guilford Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late James I. and Nettie R. West Ulrich.

Mrs. McNew worked at the South Mountain Restoration Center as a cook, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church. She enjoyed gardening, baking, puzzles, and reading her Bible.

Surviving are her children, Cathy McNew of Annville, PA, and Michael McNew (companion Kimberly Belardinelli) of Chambersburg, PA; two grandchildren, Chad McNew (wife Karen) and Ami Baer (husband Wes); four great-grandchildren, Weston, Landen, Raegan, and Makenna; step granddaughter, Brittany Defenderfer (husband Brian Hill); adopted great grandson Matthew Johnson (wife Haley); sister, Darlene Varner; and close family friend, Susan Rokita as well as multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard McNew in 2010 and seven siblings.

Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Chambersburg, PA.
