Delores J. Swanger, 77, of Chambersburg, PA, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born December 24, 1937 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Floe Trace Robinson. Delores was a graduate of the Chambersburg High School and worked for many years as the office manager at the former Southern Cross in Mercersburg. She later worked at Wal-Mart in Chambersburg. She was a member of King Street United Brethren Church and Women of the Moose #842 since 1980, where she had earned her College of Regents Degree, both are in Chambersburg. She enjoyed puzzles, readin, and cheering for her beloved Washington Redskins.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina L. (Mrs. Frank) Horton of Chambersburg; her son, Kevin E. Swanger of Chambersburg; five grandchildren; a brother, George Robinson of Chambersburg; four sisters, Betty Clugston of St. Thomas, Nancy Johnson of St. Clairsville, OH, Sarah Gochenauer of Chambersburg, and Peggy Melius of Marion; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughters, Brenda Lou and Linda Sue; and a brother, Donald Robinson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2015 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Rev. Lester F. Stine officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
