Dennis Lee Brown, 70, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at York Hospital. Born March 9, 1951 in Mount Union, PA he was a son of Evelyn Isabel Goshorn Brown and the late William Roy Brown.
Dennis was a 1969 graduate of Mount Union Area High School. A US Air Force veteran, He served honorably during the Vietnam War. He later served in the Army Reserves and the Air National Guard retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot in security until his retirement in 2011. Dennis was a member of the VFW Post 1599, the American Legion Post 46 and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was also a member of the NRA, National Wildlife Federation and the Thai Laos Cambodian Brotherhood. Dennis enjoyed hunting with his dogs, playing the banjo and bagpipes, and attending Celtic festivals and World War II weekends. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, Dennis is survived by his wife of 29 years, Donna Elizabeth Carbaugh Brown, whom he married on November 30, 1992; four children, Leta Morales (Chris Brushie) of Chambersburg, Lynette Giovinco (Ryan) of Phoenixville, AnnMarie Laban of Harrisburg, and David Laban (Christine) of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren, Diondra Laban-King, Gabriela Morales, Gavyn King, Shanelle Laban, Andrew Koziar, Leland Brushie, Eiley Laban, Axton Laban and Laila Brushie; his brother, Charles Brown (Carolyn) of OK; and sister-in-law, Margaret Brown of AR. Aside from his father, Dennis is preceded in death by his brother, David Brown; and two infant sisters, Mary and Delphia Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 10, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Dan Helenek and Stephen Jayne will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family kindly asks everyone attending to wear a mask.
