Dennis L. Cump

Dennis L. Cump, 81, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Monday, March 10, 2025 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 9, 1944 in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of the late Glen L. and Margaret C. (Sellers) Cump.

He was a graduate of Greencastle High School with the Class of 1962. Denny was employed as a machinist for Fairchild and Grove Manufacturing. He retired from Tyco Electronics in 2006 after many years of service.

Denny was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He was also a member of Greencastle Sportsman Association, NRA, Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Greencastle Rescue Hose Company, and Franklin Fire Company. He was a past president of the Whirlybird Square Dance Club. Denny enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and making crafts. He would take his crafts to participate in craft shows in the area.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judith A. (Koons) Cump who he married December 29, 1962; four daughters, Denise McLucas (Dennis), Tina Klenzing (W. Tony), Becky Cump, and Jodi Pyle (Alan); nine grandchildren, Joshua Klenzing, Andrew McLucas, Jordan Klenzing, Jamie Klenzing, Carley Leibowitz, Emma McLucas, Alex Pyle, Sarah Cump, and Jenna Pyle; eleven great-grandchildren; and a number or nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sharlet McKenrick.

Services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, March 17, 2025 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Matthew Kayhart officiating. Burial will follow in Norland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday evening as well as one hour prior to the service Monday afternoon in the funeral home.
