Dennis O. “Denny” House, Sr., age 66, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, February 2, 2018. Born in Waynesboro, PA on November 28, 1951, he was a son of the late Robert J. House Jr. and Ruth A. Booher House.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Denny served honorably during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked as a truck driver most of his adult life, Starting as an Owner/Operator from 1977 to 1994 and lastly working for Martin’s Potato Rolls, retiring in 2015 after 21 years of service. He was a member of the George Washington Lodge #143 in Chambersburg. He enjoyed flying and building airplanes, building cars, woodworking, and helping his brothers with their hobbies. However spending time with his family was his most-cherished pastime.
Surviving are his sons, Dennis O. House, Jr. of Chambersburg and David J. House of McConnellsburg, PA; his companion of 31 years, Julie Meminger and her three children; four grandchildren; and three siblings, Connie Kriebel of Hershey, PA, Kenneth House (wife Phyllis) of Shade Gap, PA, and Fred House (wife Kris) of Rock Hill, PA.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 2 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor Hannah Sledge will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
