Dennis Woodal

Dennis A. “Denny” Woodal, age 59, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born in Chambersburg on February 19, 1956, he was the son of the late Herman H. and Ruth Dice Woodal.
A 1974 graduate of CASHS, Denny went on to pursue a career as a machinist, graduating trade school as a journeyman machinist. Denny worked for Mack Truck, AMP, Pepsi, and for UPS, where he dedicated the last 28 years. An avid outdoorsman, Denny enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, traveling, friends and family, especially time with his cherished grandchildren. Denny was a member of the Funky Bunch Hunting Club, VFW Post 1599, Sons of the American Legion Post 46, the Chambersburg Club all in Chambersburg, and the Fayetteville Browns for over 30 years.
Surviving is his wife, Paula Fogelsonger Woodal, whom he married on September 17, 2005; two sons, Matthew A. Woodal (wife Kathy) of Greencastle, PA and Craig M. Woodal (wife Jennifer) of Fayetteville, PA; two step-sons, Cuyler C. Upperman (wife Holly) of Greencastle, PA and Dylan S. Upperman (fiancé Tianna Hatt) of Harrisburg, PA; six grandchildren, Makaylyn, Cassaundra, Reese, Colton, Keylee, and Chloe; two siblings, Douglas H. Woodal (wife Wanda) of Chambersburg, PA and Deb K. Kauffman (husband Robin) of Chambersburg, PA; numerous nieces and nephews; and his furry companion, Buddy.
Funeral services to celebrate Denny’s life will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor Matthew Tosten will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, from 6 – 9 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
