Dereck J. Schooley, 58, of Chambersburg, PA passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Born December 8, 1959, in Hagerstown, MD, he was a son of the late Herbert Schooley and Dorothy Harr Domer.
A 1979 Graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Dereck worked as a Forklift Operator at various warehouses in the area; including Knouse Foods, World Kitchen, and most recently at Ventura Foods, where he was employed for the past 7 years. He enjoyed boating and watching sports. He was a fan of Nascar and the Dallas Cowboys. Dereck was a member of the Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion in Chambersburg, as well as the Marine Corps League in Chambersburg. The time he treasured most was spent with his sons and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his two sons; Cheyenne Schooley (wife Bianca) of Chambersburg, PA and Jordan Schooley (wife Adriana) of Mercersburg, PA; six grandchildren, Xavier, Lucca, Tai, Jaxson, Brenlee and Amaya; five siblings, Connie Knox (husband James) of Chambersburg, PA, Lance Schooley of Shippensburg, PA, Cynthia Burkett (husband Maynard) of Gardners, PA, Eric Schooley (wife Anita) of Chambersburg, PA, and Kirk Domer (wife Kelly) of Hagerstown, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
