Derek Day

Derek Linn Day, 26 years of age, from Fayetteville, PA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 22, 2017. Born in April 1991 in Chambersburg, PA, he is a son of Linn and Cheryl Hoffman Day and the grandson of Rosalie Hoffman and the late John T. Hoffman.

Derek was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School and Bloomsburg University. Derek enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and riding 4-wheelers, listening to music and hanging out with his little brother.
Derek will be sadly missed by his parents, Linn and Cheryl Day, brother, Eric Day, maternal grandmother, Rosalie Hoffman, aunts, Cindy Hoffman and Lisa Nusbaum, paternal grandfather, Loyd Day, and his most beloved dog, Sydney.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor Bob McEllroy will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, from 5-8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
