DeWayne McAninch, 71, of Fayetteville, PA, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, November 8, 2012 at his home. Born December 2, 1940 in Odessa, TX, he was a son of the late George L. and Ruth Allen McAninch. A US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, DeWayne retired from Landis Tool in Waynesboro, PA. Following his retirement he was employed at M&S Harley Davidson in Chambersburg. He was a member of Acacia Lodge # 586 F & AM, Waynesboro, PA and the HOG Chapter of Chambersburg. He enjoyed golfing at the Waynesboro Country Club and lived to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle every day.
DeWayne is survived by his wife, Debra Y. Rodgers McAninch; two step-daughters, Carolyn Y. Thompson and Jennifer R. Smith; six step-grandchildren, Brent and Trent Smith, Jade and Jordan Gilmore, Twanna Smith, and Destinee Addison. He is also survived by a brother, Johnny Forrest and wife Elaine of Adkins, TX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Camilla A. McAninch in September of 2002 and a brother, Roy McAninch in 1980.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Paul B. Baker officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
