Diane Lynn Poe, age 63, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 30, 2015, at her home. Born March 15, 1952, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Bernice Nolan George.
A tireless and hard worker, Diane worked three jobs at one point, working for the Public Opinion for over 20 years and as a certified nurse’s aide at Menno Haven, and most recently at Kmart. She enjoyed spending time with her family, worshiping God, traveling, photography, and especially her grandchildren.
Surviving is her husband of 32 years, Bruce Albert Poe, whom she married on October 8, 1982; three children, Stephanie Yost (husband Todd) of Clear Spring, MD, Stacie Sweger (husband John) of Stafford, VA, and Ryan Poe of Chambersburg, PA; eight grandchildren, Deana, T.J., Danielle, Lily, Salome, Joana, Monica, and Kendall; and a niece, Pauline Delgado. In addition, she is survived by several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, David Nolan and Virginia Faith.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Mary Alice Clever-Douglas and Rev. Walter W. Douglas will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Fetterhoff Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Susan G. Komen for the cure, 901 E St NW, Washington, DC 20004.
