Dirk Gilbert

Dirk Garvin Gilbert, born January 23, 1967, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, was the only son of Delores "Dee" Gilbert of Providence Place Senior Living, Chambersburg and the late Charles Gilbert. In early July, Dirk was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer, and he passed away barely one month later, on August 10, 2022, at the age of 55.

Dirk graduated from Chambersburg Area Senior High School and Millersville University, Millersville, Pennsylvania. Dirk made San Diego his home in the early 90s and maintained a fulfilling career as a manufacturing engineer. He loved motorcycles, cycling, taking his dogs to Ocean Beach, and supporting his daughter Sydney's soccer career from youth club to the collegiate level.

Aside from his mother, Dirk is survived by his wife Trisha, daughter Sydney, sons Lewis Woods and Anthony Sedillo, a sister Peri Ann Flory and husband Dave, nieces Deanna Leab and Kristin Flory.

Dirk's memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Grand Point Church 2230 Grand Point Rd. Chambersburg, PA 17201. A light lunch will be served immediately following the service.
