Dolores G. Hollar, 85, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday evening, December 2, 2014 at the Shook Home, where she resided for the past 3 weeks. Born June 14, 1929 in Cleveland, OH, she was a daughter of the late James Dean Hamilton and Anna Agnes Mojher Hamilton. A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Hollar was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg where she volunteered with the clothing bank and enjoyed working in the kitchen helping to prepare and serve luncheons and the Thursday Night Suppers. Her hobbies included crocheting, baking, cooking, and flower gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her beloved husband, William K. Hollar, Jr, whom she married June 19, 1947, preceded her in death on April 24, 2003.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte (Mrs. Wayne) Bloodworth of Pueblo, CO; her son, David B. Hollar of Breezewood, PA; three grandchildren, Kristen (Mrs. Steven) Swadley of Mt. Airy, MD, Jason Cunningham of Valrico, FL, and Jessica (Mrs. David) Lewis of Jacobus, PA; and two great-grandchildren, David and Devin Lewis. She is also survived by three sisters, Barbara L. Rasperger of Slickville, PA, Mary F. Arbutine of Florida, and Jean C. Ivester of Fredericksburg, VA; as well as a brother, James Hamilton of Walkersville, MD. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, William D. Hollar on January 18, 2011; and a sister, Joan Randolph.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 8, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Donald C. Nolder officiating. Interment will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
