Donald E. Baker, 81, of Chambersburg, PA, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Chambers Pointe Nursing Center. Born September 30, 1935 in Stoufferstown, he was a son of the late Glenn and Mabel Stouffer Baker. Mr. Baker was a truck driver for fifty years. He was a member of Marion First United Methodist Church and a life member of the Marion Volunteer Fire Company. His wife, Bernice L. Moats Baker, whom he married July 15, 1956, preceded him in death on April 14, 2004.
He is survived by two daughters, Debra Arnold (husband Edward) of York Haven and Brenda Holtry (husband Larry) of Chambersburg; two sons, Garry Baker (wife Kris) of Shippensburg and Steven Baker (wife Sandra) of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Baker (wife Betty) of Chambersburg and Richard Baker (wife Barbara) of Marion; and a sister, Kay Stottlemyer of Marion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, G. Ray Baker.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Marion First United Methodist Church. Rev. Chris Renner will officiate. Private interment, prior to the service, will be at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA.
