Donald P. Cooper, Jr., 77, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Paramount Senior Living. Born January 12, 1944 in McConnellsburg, PA, he was a son of the late Donald P. Cooper, Sr., and Jennifer Flack Cooper.
A US Army veteran, Donald served honorably in Vietnam. He was employed as a nurse’s aide at South Mountain Restoration Center, a mason’s assistant, and as a house parent at the Scotland School for Veteran’s Children. Donald loved country and bluegrass music and enjoyed playing his guitar. He also loved to read and belonged to various book clubs over the years.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beverly Chamberlin Cooper, whom he married on February 27, 1970; four step children, Beth Hoch (Richard) of FL, Pamela Radcliffe (Daniel) of FL, Daniel Snoke (Martha) of Catonsville, MD, and David Snoke (Tracey) of Chambersburg; six step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; six siblings, Harry Cooper, Sr., David Cooper, Wesley Cooper (Sandy), Dean Cooper, Linda Cooper, and Winifred Crist; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his step son, William "Bill" Snoke.
Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
