Donald A. Lindley, 62 of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at his home. Born December 9, 1952 in Oceanside, NY, he was the son of the late George E. and Jessie F. Malinoski Lindley.
Donald was a 1970 graduate of Hyde Park high School in NY. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. Donald attended Stoney Brook University in NY. He later started his own business called Lindley Surveying and Mapping Company. Donald was a registered surveyor in PA, NY and Alabama and worked with many railroad and engineering companies in those states. He was an active volunteer in the Fayetteville Fire Co. where he where he helped with the Fireman’s Carnival and was working on the surveying for their new expansion. Donald was a numbers person and enjoyed analyzing the stock market.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Judy K. Werle Lindley, whom he married on May 26, 1984; two children, Sarah Nichols (husband Adam) of Scotland, PA, and Andrew Lindley of Fayetteville; his sister, Lucille Lindley of Shirley, MA; and his mother-in-law, Vonna Werle of Seymour, MO. In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his brother, George F. Lindley.
A memorial service to honor Donald’s life will be held at 1:00 on Monday, November 2, 2015 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Art Page will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Dept., 101 West Main St. Fayetteville, PA 17222.
