Donald Scott

Donald J. “Jim” Scott, 84, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Shippensburg Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Born May 20, 1939 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Ralph J. and Blanche M. Cook Scott.

Jim was employed as truck salesman for Interstate Truck Equipment of Hagerstown, MD. He was a member of Cornerstone Church of Christ in Chambersburg. Jim enjoyed NASCAR auto racing, and camping, especially at twin bridges. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his good friends, Ron Knepper.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lois Jean Byers Scott of Chambersburg; two step-children, Michael Stinger and Gary Stinger; three step-grandchildren, Amy Osbaugh, Michael Stinger, Jr., and Cody Stinger, and their families; and several nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, Jim was preceded in death by four sisters, Betty, Alice, Blanch and Delores; and three brothers, Bill, Robert and Junior. He was the last of his immediate family.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Cornerstone Church of Christ, 1350 Tallow Hill Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Bob Hart will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:0 PM prior to the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Norland Cemetery. The omission of flowers is requested. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Church of Christ. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
