Donald E. Stahl, age 73, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born December 25, 1939 in Mercersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Jacob Howard and Ruth Gehr Stahl.
Don attended school in the Greencastle-Antrim School District. He worked at the Norlo Farm, which is now the Norlo Park for 30 years and then, he went to work at Greencastle Metal works for 2 years, and then to Rice Crest farms for 12 years, before becoming terminally ill. Don enjoyed hunting deer and groundhogs, working on the farm, and going to Alaska to Salmon Fish with his son.
Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Shirley Rose Stahl, whom he married on September 27, 1986; two children, Gregory Stahl (wife Kathy) of Wasilla, AK and Teresa Canfield (husband William) of Muretta, CA; two step-children, Ronda Baughman (husband Clair “Buddy”) of Fayetteville, PA and Angela Smith of Chambersburg, PA; one granddaughter, Treva; six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two siblings, David Stahl (wife Phyllis) of Chambersburg, PA and Mary Stahl of Greencastle, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn H., C. Ellis, and Robert L. Stahl.
Services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his name to Summit Cancer and Hematology Services, 755 Norland Ave., Chambersburg PA 17201.
