Donald F. Toner, Jr., 72, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at his home. Born January 1, 1945 in Lewistown, PA, he was the son of the late Donald F. Toner and Elizabeth Baxter Ematat. His wife, Joan M. Toner, preceded him in death in 2006.
A US Army veteran, Donald served honorably in Vietnam and retired as a Staff Sergeant after 20 years of service. He was a member of the VFW Post 1599 in Chambersburg.
He is survived by three children, Matthew S. Toner, Melissa Taylor, and Jeanine Sheaffer. In addition to his wife and parents, Donald was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery A. Toner on April 8, 1972.
Service will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
