Donald H. Weber, 96, of Chambersburg, PA, died, May 13, 2023 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 28, 1927 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William Harold and Mary Insco Weber. Mr. Weber was a 1944 graduate of the Glen Burnie High School, where he served as class President. He served honorably with the US Army during WWII and went on to earn a BA in Business from the University of Maryland. Mr. Weber was employed for many years in interior design with John G. Matthews and then led his own team at Don Weber Interiors. After retiring he went to work at Carpet Fair. He was a former long-time active member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Baltimore and upon moving to Pennsylvania became an active member of Central Presbyterian Church in Chambersburg. He co-founded the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at the University of Maryland and upon settling at Penn National in Fayetteville, PA co-founded SNaP (Support Network at Penn National). His wife, Alice Schafer Weber, whom he married August 1, 1953, preceded him in death on June 17, 2006.
He is survived by three children, Mamie Weber Gaver and husband Steven of Lake Wylie, SC, Sally Weber Smith of Midland, Texas, and W. Edward Weber and husband Timothy Wedding of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren, Jared and Keith Gaver; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn A. Weber in March of 2022 and his sister, Dorothy Gwynn.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Central Presbyterian Church, Chambersburg, PA. The Rev. Scott Bowerman will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
