Donna Fleck Burget, age 92 a resident of Quincy Village in Waynesboro and formerly of Mercersburg, PA died peacefully Sunday afternoon November 24, 2024. She was born June 24, 1932 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Charles R. And Kathryn C. (Kelly) Fleck. Donna married John G. Burget of Altoona on May 24, 1953 in the Hicks Memorial Methodist Church Duncansville, PA. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2001.

Surviving are her sons, Michael J. (Lori) of Leola, PA, Kriston R. of Chambersburg, Douglas C. of Mercersburg, and Patrick J. (Jenny) of Chambersburg; daughter, Shawnna Lyn Burt (Randy) of Fort London; seven grandchildren, Isaiah, Michelle, Tai, Jason, Skylee, Boen and Landon; three great-grandchildren, Kaci, Leighton and LaReigh; a brother, Brian Fleck of Hollidaysburg, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three siblings, William, Phillip, and Joanne Fleck.

Donna was a 1950 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She participated in many activities during her years in high school: Chorus, County Chorus, Homeroom Secretary-Treasurer, Intramural Basketball and Volleyball, Student Council Alternate, May Day Attendant, Valentine Court and H-Burger Feature Editor. She also participated in 3 plays: "Love Goes South", "Ask The Professor" and "Little Women". 

During her time in High School she delivered newspapers and was a clerk at Terese's Drug Store. After high school, Donna and her late husband John lived at Penn State University while John completed his teaching degree.

After raising five kids, Donna worked in Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology and took on another career as a Teacher's Assistant for 22 years at the James Buchanan High School.

During Donna's retirement, she was a member of the Franklin County Senior Advisory Council and volunteered at the Chambersburg Hospital and Meals on Wheels. She also would connect with a group of ladies for lunch a few times a month.

Donna loved when her family and friends paid a visit to her home. She would also cook a big meal for the family to enjoy. Her specialty was making pineapple upside down cake and shoofly pie. Donna also loved and enjoyed her screened in back porch that her husband John built for her.

Services are pending at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
