Donna R. Horner, 80, of St. Thomas, PA, passed away Monday evening, October 28, 2019 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 22, 1939 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Leona Meredith Pike. Donna was a 1957 graduate of James Buchanan High School and served honorably in the US Air Force. She retired as Executive Secretary with Technicon in Tarrytown, NY. She and her late husband owned and operated the Copper Kettle in Chambersburg for 18 years. She was last employed in the deli at Sunnyway Foods in Chambersburg. Donna enjoyed attending Grandpoint Church and was a social member of the St. Thomas Fire Company. She enjoyed tending to her animals on her farmette and had a special love for horses. Her husband, Charles R. “Jack” Horner, Jr., whom she married October 24, 1993, preceded her in death on June 9, 2017.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Rion (Amy Piper) of Mercersburg; her daughter, Caryl Rion (David Samalin) of Roswell, GA; four step-children, Robert A. Stottlemyer of Orlando, FL, Lorre Stottlemyer of Frederick, MD, Kim Horner (Denise) of Boonsboro, MD, and Kirk Horner (Mary Ellen) of Mt. Carmel, TN; her grandson, Jack Rion; and three step-grandchildren, James Horner, Joseph Horner, and Erin Sublette (Brandon). She is also survived by two nieces, Delane and Deanna; her friend and former husband John M. Rion; and her best friends, Jett and JJ. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Mellott and her daughter-in-law, Gina Rion.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 29, 2019 at St. Thomas Cemetery. Rev. Don Drury will officiate.
