Dora Shetler

Dora E. Shetler, age 92, of Liverpool, PA, and formerly of Amberson Valley, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at her daughter’s residence. Born on January 29, 1923, in Amberson, PA, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Margaret Palm Varner.
A homemaker most of her adult life, Mrs. Shetler enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, puzzles, talking, playing bingo, and when she was able, volunteering at the Chambersburg Hospital and various nursing homes.
Surviving are two children, Barbara Wimer of Mechanicsburg, PA and Carl Shetler (wife Sara) of Liverpool, PA; four grandchildren, Jeff Seibert (wife Lois) of Carlisle, PA, Deedee Croumer (husband Daniel) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Kelly Dryzal (husband Timothy) of Shippensburg, PA, and Angella Fawver (husband Shannon) of Selinsgrove, PA; seven great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Shetler in 2004, six siblings, and two great-grandchildren, Keith Shetler and Anthony Blessing.
Funeral services will be held to honor her life on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 1 PM at Laurel Grove United Methodist Church, 17697 Amberson Rd., Spring Run, PA 17262, where Rev. DeAnn Newhouse and Rev. James Fox will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in Amberson Union Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Agett – Geisel Funeral Home, Dry Run, PA.
