Dorine E. Myers Devore, age 93, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Providence Place. Born November 29, 1923, in Orrstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Laura E. Myers.
Mrs. Devore was a 1941 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. Mrs. Devore worked for many years at the former Stanley Company, retiring as a Manager/Supervisor. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mrs. Devore was a past President of the American Business Women’s Association. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and shopping. While in her 70’s, Mrs. Devore learned to speak Spanish and had chaperoned the Chambersburg Area Senior high School’s Spanish Club to Costa Rico.
Surviving is her daughter, Tanya Spotts (husband Daniel) of Hamilton, VA; three grandchildren, Dr. Tatiana Sanders (husband Dr. Joel), Nikkea Spotts, and Shae Spotts; a great-grandchild Teagan Sanders; two siblings, Jean Wilson of Chambersburg, PA and Dr. J. Fred Myers of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Devore in 1997, whom she married on June 26, 1948 and two brothers, Dr. Richard and Barry Myers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Sharon Kelly, PhD. will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 29 from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Tuesday. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
