Doris Bard

Doris C. Bard, age 80, of Chambersburg, PA; passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in the Manor Care Nursing and Rehab Center. Born July 30, 1932 in Fayetteville, PA, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Grace R. Newell Flory.
Mrs. Bard worked as a presser at the former Stanley Company for 40 years, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed reading, making crafts, playing cards and games, and cooking.
Surviving are three children, Donald L. Bard, Sr. (wife Cheryl) of Chambersburg, PA, Susan K. Carbaugh (husband Robert, Sr.) of Chambersburg, PA, and Robin Moore (husband Johnny Paul) of Chambersburg, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, one great - great grandchild, and one sibling, Ruth Bennett (husband Jim) of Fayetteville, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay R. Bard, three children, Tommy Bard, Jay C. Bard, and Bette L Bard, and eight siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 9:30 AM in the Freedom in Christ Church, 4042 Sycamore Grove Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. John Pogue will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will follow the service in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
