Doris Henschel

Doris V. Henschel, age 89, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 in the Manor Care Nursing Home. Born in Plymouth, MA on September 28, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Frades Ramsdall.

Ms. Henschel worked in the housekeeping department at the Shook Home, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Chambersburg Bible Church and AARP. She enjoyed collecting lighthouses, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are eight children, Carol Cook (Richard) of Nokomis, FL; Gerald Henschel (Carolyn) of Ft. Apache, AZ; Kathleen Bettencourt (Manuel) of Princeton, ME and Venice, FL; George Henschel, Jr. of Fayetteville, PA; Joan Salisbury of Millis, MA; Douglas Henschel (Joanna) of Newburg, PA; Eric Henschel of Chambersburg, PA; and Gary Henschel (Sue) of Chambersburg, PA; 23 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Pastor Gary Yoder will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the services on Monday in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow the services in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
