Doris Leonard

Doris H. Leonard, 84, of Fayetteville, PA, died Tuesday afternoon, March 27, 2012 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 21, 1927 in Montgomery Township, Franklin County, PA, she was a daughter of the late Omar G. and Della Ramsey Hollinger. Mrs. Leonard was a 1945 graduate of the former Lemasters High School and the Central Penn Secretarial School in Harrisburg, PA. Early in her life she was employed as a secretary with the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company. She attended Mont Alto United Methodist Church, volunteered as a poll worker on election day, and was active with her high school reunion committee. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her hobbies included golfing, traveling, and crafting stained glass. Her husband, Joseph N. Leonard, preceded her in death in May of 1994.

She is survived by four daughters, Patricia Carmichael and husband Douglas of Railroad, PA, Bettina Brackin and husband John of Edgewater, FL, Christine DePaolis and husband Richard of Pottstown, PA, and Mary Keifer and husband Gerard of Moorestown, NJ; seven grandchildren; and her sister, Edna Mae Budy of Harrisburg, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, H. Dean Hollinger.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 30, 2012 at Mont Alto United Methodist Church, 10 South Main Street, Mont Alto, PA. Rev. Rachel L. Horst will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.

The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 354 North Progress Avenue, Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to the American Cancer Society, 384 Floral Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
