Doris Lesher

Doris C. Lesher, 77, formerly of 675 Center Drive, Chambersburg, PA, passed away Wednesday morning, December 21, 2011 at Menno Haven where she had been a guest for the past three weeks. Born February 22, 1934 in Kauffman Station, PA, she was a daughter of the late John Wayne and Nellie Hawk Murray. Doris was employed for more than thirty years at the former J. Schoeneman Company in Chambersburg. She was a member of Christian Life Assembly of God. Early in her life she enjoyed crafting ceramics. Her hobbies included cross stitch and baking. She and her husband enjoyed camping at Twin Bridges Campground. Her beloved husband, Richard L. Lesher, Sr., preceded her in death on March 5, 2006.

She is survived by her son, Richard E. Lesher and wife Gladys of Chambersburg; three granddaughters, Melissa Parson and husband Scott of St. Thomas, Jennifer Baker of Chambersburg, and Katherine Beidel and husband Joshua of Fayetteville; and five great-grandchildren, Samantha, Malorie, Payton, Danielle, and Makayla. She is also survived by four sisters, Betty Long of Chambersburg, Nellie Bingaman of State Line, Jean Mumma and Shirley Frain and husband John, all of Greencastle. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Friday, December 23, 2011 at Christian Life Assembly of God, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Joe Pickens will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 Thursday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA and one hour prior to the service on Friday at church.
