Doris Myers

Doris M. Myers, 78, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Monday evening, January 30, 2012 at ManorCare Health Services. Born April 28, 1933 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Robert J. and Ruth M. Kimpel Kump. Doris attended the former Chambersburg High School and went on to earn her G.E.D. in 1986. In her early life, Doris stayed home to work on the family farm until she went to work at the St. Thomas High School cafeteria. She retired in 1987 from Caledonia Manor where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Doris was affiliated with Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

She is survived by her former husband, D. Elwood Myers with whom she remained close; her son, Curtis L. Myers and wife Linda of Chambersburg; three brothers, Joseph F. Kump and wife Doris of Annapolis, MD, James A. Kump and wife Mary of Warren, MI, and T. Edward Kump and wife Linda of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia A.Kump Zimmerman; and two brothers, Robert J. Kump, Jr. and Richard P. “Butch” Kump.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, February 3, 2012 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment will follow at Air Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
