Doris Thomas

Doris Jean Thomas, age 68, of Fayetteville, PA, went to be with the Lord at her home surrounded by her beloved family on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Born January 10, 1950, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Elsie Noll Kramer.
Mrs. Thomas worked at Letterkenny Army Depot for 22 years, retiring in 1997, as a planner. She attended Mt. Union United Methodist Church. Devoted to her family, she cherished time spent hunting, fishing, and camping with them. She also enjoyed going to watch her son, Kevin race, as she was his biggest fan. Alongside her husband, Frank they shared many wonderful memories together, including their greatest joy, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving is her loving husband of 50 years, Frank C. Thomas, whom she married May 18, 1968, two children, Kevin F. Thomas (Wife Teresa) of St. Thomas, PA and Crystal M. Thomas Shaffer of Waynesboro, PA (husband Scott of Fayetteville, PA); four grandchildren, Amber Nicole Tarman (husband Curtis) of Ft. Loudon, PA, Cortney Bumbaugh (fiancé Eric Dunlap) of Fayetteville, PA, Devin Thomas of St. Thomas, PA, and Kelby Shaffer of Waynesboro, PA; three great-grandchildren, Brylynn and Raelynn Tarman and Bentyn Dunlap, a brother, Donald Kramer (wife Lois) of Fayetteville, PA, fellow family campers, Dale and Red Shadle, and numerous nieces and nephews . In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor Staci Geesaman will officiate. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Monday, November 12, 2018, from 6 – 9 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Tuesday. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
