Doris V. Bishop Yeager, 94, of Chambersburg, passed away Monday morning July 10, 2023 at Paramount Senior Living in Fayetteville. Born July 24, 1928 in Letterkenny Township, she was a daughter of the late Lee W. and Carrie Hoover Bishop. Mrs. Yeager had been employed at Knouse Foods and later retired from Pet-Ritz in Chambersburg. She enjoyed socializing; attending activities at the Senior Center; gardening, walking, bowling, and playing Bingo. She and her late husband enjoyed many years camping at Twin Bridge Campground. Her husband, Merle J. Yeager, Jr., whom she married August 2, 1947, preceded her in death on May 19, 1995.
She is survived by her sons, Robert A. Yeager and wife Lila of Chambersburg and Garnet L. Yeager and wife Martha of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Alison Nisbet and husband Derek and Effie Monaco and husband Dean; and three great-grandchildren, Dustin, Daniella, and Hazel. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Garnet; two sisters, Madeline and Hazel; and a granddaughter, Carrie Yeager in 1993.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 14, 2023 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. W. David Kent will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30PM until services begin at 2:00 PM.
