Dorothy A. “Dot” Bock, 81, of 6798 Path Valley Road, Fannettsburg, PA, died at 6:00 PM Sunday, December 18, 2011 at ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg. Born March 26, 1930 in Monroe Valley, Huntingdon County, PA, she was a daughter of the late Emory and Maisie Madden Covert. Dot was a homemaker and seamstress most of her life, retiring from the former U-Wanna-Wash Frock Company in Ft. Loudon. She was a member of Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church and also attended Carrick United Methodist Church. Dot found her greatest joys in life with her family, friends, and grandchildren. Her beloved husband, Wilson E. Bock, whom she married June 14, 1953, preceded her in death on May 29, 2008.
She is survived by two sons, Darcy Bock and wife Winifred of Fort Loudon and Mike Bock and wife Josie of Fannettsburg; four grandchildren, Meghan Graham, Emily, Myles, and Michael Bock; one step-grandson, Derek Stoy; and a step-great grandson, Hunter Stoy. Also surviving are three sisters, Marcella Williams, Janet Wickard, and Deb Shields; two brothers, Jim and Barry Covert; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Geraldine, Cleo, Monda, and Karen; and two brothers, Guy and Jack.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2011 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Mike Baumgardner will officiate. Interment will follow in Upper Path Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday and Noon-1:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
