Dorothy Braun

Dorothy Rakowski Braun, age 89, of Fayetteville, PA and formerly of Doylestown, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Menno Haven Nursing Center. Born July 23, 1925 in Rochester, NY, she was the daughter of Harry and Bertha Rakowski.
She was a registered nurse for which she studied at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. She enjoyed crafts, painting and drawing, reading, playing bridge and dancing. She and her family lived in Columbus, OH, Tonawanda and Camillus, NY, Ellicott City, MD, Doylestown, PA, and finally in Chambersburg.
Her husband, Edward George Braun passed away three years ago. They were married in 1949. Surviving her are her children, William T. Braun (wife Ilene) of Herndon, VA, Dr. Robert E. Braun (wife Linda) of Fort Wayne, IN, Stephen G. Braun of Falls Church, VA, Carol B. Kline (husband Dana) of Knoxville, MD, and Mary B. Stangl (husband Joseph) of Lincoln University, PA; her grandchildren, Kristen, Daniel, Stephen, Maxwell, Catherine, Benjamin, and Peter Braun, and Derek and Gregory Kline, and Theresa and Emily Stangl; her great-granddaughter Olivia Kline, her brother, Robert Rakowski (wife Norma) and her sister, Roseanne Pochalski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201 on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Corpus Christi would be welcome.
