Dorothy Dale

Dorothy S. Dale, age 92, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at Menno Haven on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Born in Marks, PA on November 4, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Martin Luther and Mary Gift Sixeas.

Mrs. Dale worked at Letterkenny Army Depot as a clerk until her retirement on April 4, 1967. She was a member and past President of NARFE and a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was also a part of the Alda Bower Sunday School Class.

Surviving are her children, Linda L. Dale of Chambersburg, PA and Wayne E. Dale (wife Marjorie) of Chambersburg, PA; one grandson, Eric W. Dale of Boiling Springs, PA; two step-grandchildren, Lori Piper of Tampa, FL and Tim Piper of Chambersburg, PA; two great-granddaughters, Kylee and Kara Dale; and three step great-grandchildren, Madeleine, Clark, and Mara Piper all of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold F. Dale on June 1, 2002 and a brother, Robert K. Sixeas.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 225 S. Second St., Chambersburg, PA 17201; where Rev. Dick Williams and Rev. Dianne Salter will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA and on Friday at the church, one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery. If desired contributions may be made in her name to the above named church and address or to the Menno Haven Benevolent Fund, 2011 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
