Dorothy Fischer

Dorothy E. Beden Fischer, 91, of Chambersburg, PA, died Wednesday morning, January 30, 2013 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 16, 1921 in Bloomington, IL, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Etta Ghost Beden. A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Fischer had worked as a riveter for the US Government during WWII. She had also been employed by State Farm and at a number of retail stores. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and the Order of Eastern Star. Her beloved husband, Edward Carl Fischer, whom she married August 24, 1941, preceded her in death on June 19, 2007.

Mrs. Fischer is survived by her son, Dennis L. Fischer of Boyertown, PA; her daughter, Pamela Le Cren and husband Joseph of Burtonsville, MD; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Alan Wayne Fischer on December 10, 2005.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30PM Monday, February 4, 2013 in the Penn Hall Chapel, 1425 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg with Chaplain Robert Keener officiating. Entombment will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA.
