Dorothy Fogelsonger

March 7, 1921 — August 10, 2012

Dorothy V. (Good) Fogelsonger of, Waynesboro, PA, received an invitation from her Lord, Jesus to join Him in Heaven on August 10, 2012 at 5:00 PM. Born March 7, 1921 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of Hattie Mae (Staley) and Chester Stoler Good.

She and her late husband, William H. (Shorty) Fogelsonger were wed on August 17, 1940 in Hagerstown.
They celebrated their 50th anniversary in California before his death on October 23, 1990. She lived most of her life in Chambersburg, working at the former Stanley Co (J. Shoeneman), Marathon-
American Can and American Printing Press. After moving to Waynesboro, she was employed at Austin Hilland Waynesboro Manufacturing as a supervisor. She retired from Waynesboro Manufacturing in 1986. In her early years, she was President and Life Member of the Landis - McCleaf Marine Corps Auxiliary and Life Member of the VFW Post 1599 Auxiliary, both in Chambersburg. She became a member of the Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church in 1991 and was an active Prayer Warrior
until the last few months. She enjoyed spending time with her children and their families. She loved to garden, read, work crossword puzzles and listen to good music. She was an avid viewer of the Gaither Homecoming Shows on TV and was always over-joyed when receiving flowers.

She was the last of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Max) Gray, Cathy (Lester)Snavely of Mechanicsburg, April (Bill) Dowd of Troy, NY, an 'adopted' daughter Dawn Styer of Lancaster, a daughter-in-law, Vesta (John) Fogelsonger of Mercersburg, a brother-in-law, Paulmer Fogelsonger of Lancaster, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great - great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband, were three brothers, Chester Everett Good; Charles Richard Good; and Raymond Good, a sister, Nancy (Good) Shearer, a son, John L Fogelsonger, a daughter, Judith Ann Fogelsonger, as well as three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the 'Going Home' Celebration in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 11:30 AM; where Pastor Ray Kipe will officiate. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. By her request, we ask that any monetary donations be sent to the Five Forks Church, 9244 Five Forks Road, Waynesboro, earmarked for the Building Fund.
