Dorothy Park

Dorothy C. “Dottie” Park, 88, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday morning, October 11, 2023 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Luther Ridge. Born January 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Belle Hess Cornelius. Her beloved husband Harry T. Park, Jr., whom she married on August 18, 1956, preceded her in death on October 29, 2003.

Dottie was a 1954 graduate of the former Robertsdale Senior High School where she served as the class treasurer. She was employed in financial services with Valley Bank and Trust, Dauphin Deposit and as a Bank Officer with Sentry Trust until her retirement. Dottie was a member of the former Chambersburg First Church of God, now Grand Point Church, the American Bankers Association, and the American Business Women’s Association.

She is survived by two nephews, Dale Watkins (Nancy) of Chambersburg, and Walter Cornelius, Jr. (Brenda) of Saxton; one niece, Elona Cornelius of Orbisonia; five step-nieces and nephews, Deb Price (Joe), Diane Cowan (Craig), Dena Danfelt, Rhonda Brown (George) and Merle Danfelt (Brenda); and four great nephews and nieces, Bethanne Watkins, Ellen Miller (Aaron), Anthony Watkins (Laura), Daniel Watkins. Aside from her parents and husband, Dottie was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Cornelius, Sr., and Marion Cornelius.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Rev. Christopher Frye will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
