Dorothy Roland

Dorothy Burkett Roland, age 90, of Chambersburg, passed away at Falling Spring Nursing Home on August 23, 2018. Born in Alum Bank, PA, on May 5, 1934, she was the daughter of Harry and Pearl Mickle Burkett.
Dorothy was a waitress and bartender at the former Kimple’s restaurant in Fayetteville, PA. She then worked in the dietary department of Wilson College. She also worked at South Mountain Restoration Center as a dietary supervisor, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Charles M. Nitterhouse, Post 1599 VFW in Chambersburg, as well as the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge # 842 in Chambersburg. She also enjoyed bowling.
Dorothy is survived by her three sons, Ronald Roland (Diane), of Chambersburg, Mark Roland (Christine), of Chambersburg, and Donald Roland (Brenda) of Fayetteville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services and inurnment for Dorothy will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 2595 Interstate Dr. Ste 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd.
