Dorothy Snyder

Dorothy A. Snyder, age 87, a resident of the Locust Grove Retirement Home in Mifflin, PA and formerly of Blairs Mills, PA; passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012. Born February 25, 1925 in Lack Township, she was the daughter of the late J. Bryan and Ethel Shearer Burdge.
A homemaker all her life, Mrs. Snyder enjoyed spending time with family, playing the piano for her Sunday School Class. She served as the Sexton of her Church. She was a member of the Shade Gap Ladies Auxiliary and the Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her children, Gary B. Snyder (wife Vickie) of Blairs Mills, PA; Patsy Hardy of Mifflintown, PA; Patrick L. Snyder (wife Martha Ann) of Shade Gap, PA; Robert A. Snyder (Connie) of East Waterford, PA; and Delores Herzberg (husband Kurt) of Duncannon, PA; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one brother, Hays Burdge of East Waterford, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Snyder in 2001, a brother, Donald Burdge, a granddaughter, Leslie Hardy, and a great-granddaughter, Beverly Hardy.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, Blairs Mills, PA with Rev. Bruce Shannon and Rev. Karen Willis officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 2 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM in the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the above church.
