Dorothy Werner

Dorothy E. Werner, 94, a resident at ManorCare Health Services in Camp Hill and formerly of Chambersburg, passed away Saturday evening, March 14, 2015 at the nursing home. Born November 30, 1920 in Middletown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry B. and Esther K. McCurdy Reider. She was a 1938 graduate of the Middletown High School and was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg and its Alda Bower Sunday School Class. She was a fifty plus year member of Astro Order of Easter Star #380 in Middletown; a member of Falling Spring Chapter #2840 AARP; and NARFE Chapter #1063. Dorothy loved playing golf, bridge, and also enjoyed reading. Her husband, Ira M. Werner, preceded her in death on December 7, 1988.

The last of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel M. Baker and Jean Reider.

Services, under the direction of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, will be private. Interment will be in Hillsdale Cemetery, Middletown, PA.
