Douglas Conner

Douglas K. Conner, 53, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at his home. Born August 27, 1960 in Chambersburg, he was a son of Robert J., Sr. and Shirley Swailes Conner of Chambersburg. Doug attended Chambersburg area schools. Self-employed doing siding and roofing work, he had previously been employed by Yocum’s Siding and the former Pet Ritz Company. Throughout his life, Doug was active with various ball teams in Chambersburg and Fayetteville. He played in the Chambersburg Area Little League, the Nellie Fox League, and the Marine Corps Softball League. He coached basketball and umpired for various sporting events. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Doug liked fishing, snow skiing, jet skiing, and loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Beverly Cramer Conner, whom he married August 1, 1998; his daughter, Autumn Conner and her companion Terry Brown; his step-daughter, Valeria Hymas; three grandchildren, Keyan Engle, T.J. Brown, and Charlie Hymas; as well as a grandson expected in September. He is also survived by three sisters, Louise (wife of the late Michael) Henry, Tracey (wife of David) Metz, and Lisa (wife of Craig) Timbrook; three brothers, Robert (husband of Deb) Conner, Jr., David (husband of Kelly) Conner, and Steven (husband of Cindy) Conner; his mother-in-law, Gladys Cramer; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Renee Conner and one niece.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM Friday, June 27, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Todd Risser officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Attendees are encouraged to dress in sports team apparel. Interment will be private.

The family requests the omission of flowers and requests memorial contributions be made to a trust fund for his grandson Keyan Zane Engle, c/o M&T Bank, PO Box 459, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
