Douglas Johnson

January 7, 1970 — August 13, 2022

Tears are falling from the Heavens today because on Saturday, August 13th, 2022, my little brother, Douglas Emery Johnson, born January 7, 1970, breathed his last breath on this earth.

Doug was an amazing man, loved by all who knew him. He was wicked smart and famous for his incredibly quick wit, sense of humor, with a touch of sarcasm and the ability to bring laughter into even the darkest of moments. He had a deep, committed love to his family, a man of strong faith and belief in Christ.

He was a graduate of Fannett Metal High School with the Class of 1988. He worked for Custom Power Services traveling all over to ensure phones had the service they needed. Later he was employed as a contractor at Letterkenny Army Depot for a number of years.

He adored his children, Dean and Erica – and was extremely proud of both of them. He loved music, cars, games and good food enjoyed with his family and friends. He had many plans in life; left unfulfilled, including marrying his loving fiancé, Maggie Briggs.

Among the broken hearts left to grieve him, in addition to his children and fiancé, are his mother, Bonnie Johnson, his “little” sister Marcia Johnson-Reinhart, brother-in-law and friend, John Reinhart, brother Dan Johnson and his wife Joyce, and his sibling’s children, Ashley Stiver, Ryan Stiver and Cameron Reinhart, and great-niece Sierra Varner, as well as many cousins, Maggie’s family and so many friends. His father, Homer Johnson preceded him in death.

Doug hated viewings and funerals so we will not be having one. Instead, please join us for what’s bound to be a tearful celebration of his life on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 4:00 PM in the Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church, 16950 Main Street, Spring Run, PA 17262 with Rev. Dr. Megan Boozer officiating. Food and a time to hug, cry, and laugh will be held following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc.

In lieu of flowers and memorial contributions Doug would say “Eh, times are tough, keep your money. Do something nice for someone and think of me.”

Online condolences may be expressed at www.geiselfuneralhome.com.
