Douglas Norcross

Douglas A. Norcross, 57, of Chambersburg, died at 10:22 PM on Thursday September 29, 2011 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born on June 12, 1954 in Chambersburg, he was the son of Anna M. Suders Norcross of Chambersburg, and the late Clyde H. “Butch” Norcross.

Prior to retiring, Doug had worked as a forklift mechanic at the former Pet Ritz and Food Lion. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Chambersburg, Oscar M. Hykes Post 223 American Legion, Shippensburg and Hub City Club, Shippensburg.

Aside from his mother and best friend, Doug is survived by his baby and love of his life, Judi Hull of Chambersburg; Judi’s son Travis Miller, of Chambersburg; Judi’s little angels Payden and Jaylyn Miller of Chambersburg; siblings Gene Norcross, of New Jersey, Fran Bigler, of Hope Mills, NC, Peggy Young of York, PA, Steven Norcross, Karen Barner, Brian and Kirk Norcross all of Chambersburg, Lisa Miller of Harrisburg, PA and Scott Norcross of Carlisle, PA. He is also survived by his many wonderful friends; many nieces and nephews, all of whom got trips to feed the fish; and a special nephew Tony Bigler, whom Doug considered his best friend.

Aside from his father, Doug was preceded in death by a brother Jeffrey Norcross. A viewing will be held on Sunday October 2, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg, PA. Dates and times of graveside services will be announced in a future edition.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, Franklin/Fulton Division, 417 Phoenix Drive Chambersburg, PA 17201.
